Every movement begins with people who care
We work with nonprofits, movement leaders, and funders to strengthen the food and agriculture systems that feed and support our communities. We have decades of experience as leaders, advocates, and movement-builders, and our work is grounded in collaboration, strategy, and care for the people and communities we serve. Together, we help movements grow stronger, more resilient, and more just.
Our approach combines:
Strategic advising based on deep knowledge of food and agriculture systems.
Leadership support for executives, boards, and teams working to navigate change.
Movement infrastructure that helps organizations collaborate, build capacity and sustain impact.
How We Work
RCC helps organizations and leaders navigate these transitions by providing the structure, support, and collaboration needed to stabilize operations, strengthen leadership, and align the movement’s shared story and power. We tend to the health and well-being of the organizations and leaders that form the backbone of the food and farm justice movement. When groups are in crisis, it’s nearly impossible to think strategically—our role is to ease the burden through shared individualized support, systems and resources, narrative frameworks, and practical tools.
RCC helps organizations stay informed and coordinated, assess risk and identify alternative pathways for their work, including fiscal sponsorship, shared governance, or new collaborative entities when/if the traditional 501(c)(3) model becomes threatened or untenable.
RCC’s approach is rooted in listening, relationships, collaboration and long-term trust. We do not aim to be everything for everyone. Our work builds on what already exists, fills gaps when necessary, and defers to others when they are best positioned to lead. Our role is to help strengthen the connective infrastructure, helping the movement hold together under stress, recover from disruption, and continue advancing shared goals.
Our work is grounded in a set of guiding principles: people come first; strong systems exist to serve leadership and mission, not the other way around. We see compliance as a form of care and empowerment—protecting people, programs, and purpose. Collaboration creates strength, and continuity matters; we honor both emerging and elder leadership, ensuring wisdom and innovation move forward together.
